Demap Teknik Makina provides specialized Ballast Water Treatment System (BWTS) integration services to help shipowners meet IMO and USCG environmental compliance standards. With ballast water regulations becoming increasingly strict worldwide, our BWTS solutions are designed to ensure seamless system implementation without compromising operational efficiency. We manage the full lifecycle of integration—from feasibility assessment and system selection to installation, commissioning, and class approval.

We offer both turnkey and cooperative integration options depending on the shipowner’s needs. In a turnkey project, Demap handles procurement of the BWTS unit, auxiliary equipment, piping materials, electrical components, and automation interfaces. We coordinate with the maker to ensure factory testing (FAT) and compliance with the selected type approval. In cooperative cases, we work with the shipowner’s purchasing and technical team while providing installation and commissioning expertise.

Our mechanical team performs cutting, welding, and fitting of all ballast lines, filters, UV units, sampling points, valves, and chemical dosing lines. Electrical specialists take care of power supply connections, control panel integration, sensor wiring, and communication with the ship’s automation system. All work is carried out by certified personnel in accordance with class rules and BWTS maker guidelines.

Commissioning of the BWTS system includes flushing, pressure testing, I/O checks, software configuration, and functional trials. We ensure that all alarms, sensors, bypasses, and auto/manual modes are operational. Upon completion, we prepare class survey documents, operation manuals, and provide crew training on system use and emergency procedures. We also support periodic maintenance planning and spares management.
